:: Principle ::
Inverted Bucket Steam Traps operate on difference in
density between gas and liquid. Steam enters the inverted submerged bucket
and it imparts buoyancy to the bucket, as a result of which, it is lifted
and closes the discharge valve. When condensate enters the Trap and
reaches a certain level, the weight of the bucket multiplied by leverage
exceeds the differential pressure holding the valve to seat and bucket
sinks and opens the valve to discharge condensate. Accumulated air,
CO2 and other non-condensable gases are discharged first prior
to condensate.
